MHT CET 2014 Admission



The official authority of Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra will conduct the MHT CET 2014 exam for the applicants interested in pursuing engineering at undergraduate level in the colleges of Maharashtra state. However, the applicants interested in pursuing engineering at undergraduate level in the colleges of Maharashtra state must know that from this academic year i.e. 2014-15 the admissions will be made based on the applicants performance in the JEE Main exams. Therefore; it is important for all the interested applicants to appear for the JEE Main exams and perform considerably well so that they qualify the cutoff marks of most of the colleges and further are called for the counseling process by the various institutes.

Following is the brief overview about the MHT 2014 CET exam:

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria:

The applicants must understand the importance of the eligibility and the applicants adhering by the same will qualify to attempt the examination and in case, qualifying the exam shall be granted admission based on the seat availability and their performance in the respective exam. Below mentioned are some of the points associated with the eligibility criterion of MT CET:
·         The applicants must qualified the class XII exam with Physics, Maths and Chemistry as compulsory subjects
·         The applicants will be eligible to give three attempts exam
·         The candidates of open and general category must be born in or after the first week of October 1980. However, in the case of the reserved section of the society, the applicants born in the 1984 will fall in the eligibility bracket
·         The applicants must have scored minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination of class XII

MHT CET Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern of any examination holds a great importance in the applicant’s preparation as it is always advisable to the candidates to prepare in a certain manner, which contributes to the understanding of the exam pattern. Following are the points related with the exam pattern of MHT CET:
·         The questions will comprise from Physics, Chemistry and Math subjects
·         All questions in the exam will carry equal marks of 3 marks
·         The questions will be objective in nature and the questions will have four choices
·         There is a provision of negative marking in case of incorrect answer, one- fourth mark will be deducted
·         In case of un- attempted questions, no mark will be deducted
·         The examination will be conducted in both online and offline mode

MHT CET Counseling

The counseling for MHT CET will be conducted through centralized admission process (CAP) and it shall be conducted for the eligible candidates scoring the set cutoff marks. In the counseling, the applicants are required to list down their priorities in terms of courses and colleges. Once the counseling process is over, the candidates will be made seat allotment based on the availability and the final merit scores.
